The Conference Event in October 2020 is being held at the Plough & Harrow Best Western Hotel, Birmingham.
Staying at the hotel is optional and entirely your choice and responsibility. The conference runs from 9am - 5pm each day. If you are not staying at the hotel, it is your responsibility to arrive in time for the prompt 9am start each day.
ABOUT THE HOTEL:
The Plough & Harrow Hotel is an 18th Century country house set in leafy grounds, less than a mile from Birmingham centre. It has a blue plaque in honour of J.R Tolkien who stayed here on his wedding night in 1916 when on leave from the army.
The spacious rooms are traditionally decorated, and each has a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee facilities and a work desk. Some rooms have garden views, and the bathrooms have free toiletries and a hairdryer.
There are limited rooms available at the hotel so early booking is advised.
Please contact the hotel directly stating that you are part of the conference for up-to-date availability. It is your responsibility to ensure that any details are clarified when booking hotel rooms.
We have negotiated a discounted price for participants of the conference who wish to stay at the hotel. Please ensure you are happy with the terms provided by the hotel when you place your booking.
The special 'delegate' rates are:-
- Single Occupancy £80 per night
- Double Occupancy £90 per room per night (double occupancy can be a double bed or twin)
Both are for standard ensuite rooms and include breakfast.
Payment is taken upon check out, though card details will be required to secure your booking.
Please book by phone as the delegate rates are not available online:-
Tel: 0121 4544111 (select option 1) - Let them know you are attending the 'UK health conference' on 24th-25th October
TRAVELLING TO THE HOTEL:
BY RAIL: The closest train station is New Street Rail Station. It is 1.4 miles away (5-minute drive, 30-minute walk). It is recommended to take a taxi from the train station to the hotel, which should cost less than £10. If you wish to walk, directions are HERE
BY PLANE: From Birmingham International Train Station at Birmingham International Airport, take the train to New Street Station. Trains run every 16 minutes and the ride will cost for a £3 single ticket. Then take a taxi or walk to the hotel.
Buses are available between the train station and the hotel, however, due to changes and multiple stops, it is much quicker and easier to use a taxi or walk!
